A City of Storybook Beauty, Resilience and Living History
Prague is a city that feels like stepping inside a storybook — cobblestone streets, Gothic spires, riverside views, and layers upon layers of history. It’s beautiful in a way that doesn’t feel staged or polished for tourists — it’s real, lived-in beauty.
I experienced Prague as part of a college trip. We spent a week fully immersing ourselves in Czech culture, history, and everyday life. It was the kind of trip that changes the way you see the world. Prague isn’t just a place you visit; it’s a place that stays with you.
Prague Castle & St. Vitus Cathedral
Prague Castle isn’t just a castle — it’s a sprawling complex overlooking the city with that iconic terracotta skyline. Inside, St. Vitus Cathedral rises like something out of a fairytale. The stained glass windows glow like jeweled light, and the architecture feels both awe-inspiring and deeply human.
Standing there, you feel the weight of centuries — and yet the city around it is filled with laughter, student life, café chatter, and music drifting from street corners. It’s history that breathes.
Terezín (Theresienstadt)
One of the most impactful experiences of my visit was traveling to Terezín, a former transit camp during World War II. It is painful, humbling, and necessary. Being there, walking the grounds, hearing the stories, and seeing the art and poetry left behind by children — stays with you in a way textbooks never can.
Travel should expand not only joy, but empathy. Prague allows both.

The Czech People & Culture
The Czech language has a softness and musicality to it, and the people are proud, warm, and deeply connected to their history.
You find beauty not only in the famous landmarks, but in the everyday moments:
-
A bakery window filled with fresh koláče
-
Locals chatting in the park near the Vltava River
-
Evening light hitting Charles Bridge just right
There’s a calm confidence in Prague — grounded, artistic, slightly whimsical.
